“A story that helps children understand that big feelings are not bad feelings—and that they can always choose again.”

Watch the story come to life

A warm read for the moments that matter.

Step into Toussaint and Bijoux's world and discover a thoughtful story made for bedtime, family reading, and meaningful conversations.

01

Meet the twins

Same house. Same age. Two wonderfully different minds.

Toussaint's mind moves fast. He reads quickly, remembers exact facts, and feels his whole body race when the world changes without warning.

Bijoux loves math, baking, and helping people feel seen. She notices when Toussaint is struggling—and knows how to help without making him feel small.

Together, they're learning chess. But the chessboard becomes more than a game. It becomes a place to pause, breathe, reset, and think about what comes next.

A chessboard full of life lessons

One square at a time.

Everyday challenges become gentle opportunities for growth, connection, and better choices.

01

Patience

Waiting can be hard. A thoughtful pause can change everything.

02

Big feelings

Name what you feel, breathe, and give yourself room to reset.

03

Resilience

Losing is not the end. Every game teaches us something.

04

Planning ahead

Look at the board, consider your choices, then make your move.

A meaningful read for

Bedtime, classrooms, counseling, and chess clubs.

  • Parents & grandparents
  • Teachers & school librarians
  • Counselors & therapists
  • Chess coaches & youth programs

When cookies take too long to cool, a tower crashes, a puzzle feels impossible, the room gets too loud, or a game ends in checkmate, the twins discover that every hard moment still has a next move.

Warm. Thoughtful. Hopeful.
